Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats
Ingredients
- 2/3
cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4
cup Organic peanut butter
- 2
large eggs
- 3
cups whole wheat flour, or more, as needed
Instructions
- Preheat
oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a
silicone baking mat; set aside.
- In
the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat
pumpkin puree, peanut butter and eggs on medium-high until well combined,
about 1-2 minutes. Gradually add 2 1/2 cups flour at low speed, beating
just until incorporated. Add an additional 1/4 cup flour at a time just
until the dough is no longer sticky.
- Working
on a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes
together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Using
cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place onto the prepared baking
sheet.
- Place
into oven and bake until the edges are golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.*
- Let
cool completely.
Crunchy Honey Cinnamon Dog Biscuits
Ingredients:
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 and lightly grease a couple of baking sheets.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the oil, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, milk and egg. Once you’ve got that mixed, stir in the flour and baking powder. Mix until a dough forms.
3. On a lightly floured surface, dump out the contents of the bowl and then knead it until all of the ingredients are incorporated and it can be spread using a rolling pin. Roll the dough out to about a 1/4″ thickness and then either cut using cookie cutters or a pizza cutter.
4. Place the uncooked biscuits on your baking sheets and bake for 13-15 minutes.

Italian Beefy Bites
2 cups cooked ground beef (about 2/3 lb. raw)
1 can (6oz) tomato paste
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
2 large eggs
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 and lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
2. Brown the ground beef.
3. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cooked beef crumbles to a large mixing bowl.
4. Add the tomato paste and toss until the beef is coated.
5. Add the cheese, flour, dry milk and eggs and mix well.
Note: I use a combination of stirring and “mushing” to get all the dry ingredients to incorporate.
6. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto your greased baking sheets.
Note: These don’t really expand while baking, so drop them onto the sheet in a size that would work best for your dog.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms of the treats are a nice golden brown.
- Makes 50-60 bite-sized dog treats
- Store these in the refrigerator
